Preservation-Related Sections of the Princeton Borough Land Use Ordinance

Princeton Borough does not have a free-standing historic preservation ordinance. Instead, the Borough has incorporated historic preservation concerns within chapter 17A, the Princeton Borough Land Use Ordinance, a comprehensive 228-page document consisting of 408 sections as of December, 1997.

This appendix to the Princeton Borough Historic Preservation Review Committee Procedures Manual lists preservation-specific sections of that ordinance and other sections generally applicable to the responsibilities of the HPRC. This is not intended as a comprehensive list of every section that might, in every situation, be applicable to the HPRC. It is a list of the sections typically used by the HPRC in offering historic preservation advice and conducting project reviews. For applicable but non-routine subjects and requirements, it is necessary to refer to the Borough Land Use Ordinance table of contents or index.
